Journaling: My precious Alana May. I love you with my whole heart and so I strive to protect you from sadness and heartbreak, loss and rejection. But I know that it is really not possible to protect you from all that is painful. And so, as most mothers do, I try to make certain aspects of your life better than it was for me. One aspect that I’ve decided to focus on is my faith. Having not discovered my true faith in God until only recently, I know what a difference a strong spiritual foundation would have made in my earlier years. And so, it is with that knowledge and experience, that I will do my best to instill an intimate knowledge of our Lord, that you may be able to call on your faith in His love and friendship during the most difficult years of your life…as well as your happiest. I pray for you to know Him, believe in him and love Him…as he does you. You are His own beautiful and unique creation, and with his help and guidance, I will do my best to make sure you always know that. Always remember, Baby, when you are lost, confused, sad or frustrated, just look up, because He’ll always be there for you. As will I.
