I took awhile to do this layout because last time I did a layout on being pregnant, I lost the baby a couple of weeks later. I was scared to do it again, so I waited until I was further along.

1st have of journaling:

I was tempted to wait to do this layout because of what happened last time I did a layout on being pregnant. I’m not very superstitious and I just can’t seem to contain my excitement, so this layout is taking shape!
I started the second round of in-vitro fertilization in October. Serena and I were much more subdued in our enthusiasm this time, afraid to get too excited in case things didn’t work out again. On October 23rd, my parents took me for the egg retrieval (Serena had to work). The doctor was able to extract 27 eggs! 19 of them were mature enough to go through the fertilization, and 18 were fertilized. On October 28th, Serena and I headed to the fertility center to have the implant done.
What a riot it was getting there! I had to make sure that my bladder was full for the procedure. The previous time we had to wait in the office while I drank more fluids because I wasn’t full enough. We didn’t want that to happen this time, so I drank plenty of water before leaving home. I drank too much water too soon, and we had to stop a at car dealer so I could go! We made it to the fertility center, and they were backed up with procedures, so I had to wait over an hour and a half. I kept sneaking to the bathroom to “go just a little” and then would drink some more water to make sure I stayed full. It was torture. When I finally went into the prep room, the ultrasound technician examined me and told me I was too full and had to release at least 3 cups! My bladder decided to be shy about it, and it took me some time to get things taken care of.
