Scandinavian Chic Design

I was given this gorgeous Simon Says Stamp card kit for my birthday this year. I LOVE Scandinavian inspired design, there's something timeless and wonderful about these folk art designs. I think this set is absolutely gorgeous and had great fun creating this monochromatic design. I used the ink that came with the set to stamp the design and later added metallic silver details for a bit of shine and interest. I dry embossed the background with a cool stencil from Vicki Boutin, then dragged the ink pad from the kit across it to bring out the design. I used the grey cardstock from the kit to layer behind this, but created the card base from some lovely Paper Boutique cardstock, that has a white reverse side, so perfect for the inside of cards. The lovely sentiment I cut from iridescent cardstock and the shadow from vellum. I hand cut the vellum heart shadow to add some interest around the design. Final finishing touch was some gorgeous Holo Silver Confetti from Trinity Stamps. I just love the elegant and understated finish that the monochromatic approach gives.
