There's something about Autumn that speaks to my heart. I adore the Autumn colours, the crisp air, the warm sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes and all those gorgeous Autumn hues on cards! I had great fun creating this textured Autumn card. I've dry embossed a panel of white paper using a Vicki Boutin stencil and then did the same to a metallic cardstock I had in my stash. I splattered the metallic cardstock with some distress ink, quite forgetting that it doesn't dry well on metallic cardstock! So to rescue this ill-conceived idea, I sprinkled it liberally with embossing powder and very gently heat set it, so as not to lift the metallic coating on the cardstock. A happy accident in the end, because I LOVE how this turned out! I trimmed it to create a panel of interest on the card, matching the embossed patterns. I wrapped it with chocolate brown twine before adhering it with foam tape to the white layer. Both layers were mounted to the lovely Lawn Fawn Brown Woodgrain cardstock base. I ink blended a couple of pages with a mix of distress ink colours quite randomly, so there were intersections and blends on the pages. I cut a bunch of leaves from these, choosing sections were the colours met or overlapped for some fun Autumnal 'turning of the leaves' kinda vibes. The beautiful die set is from Hero Arts. I tied a few of these leaves to the card and finished that with a simple bow. I added a beautiful diecut Autumn word from Whimsy Stamps cut from the same ink blended paper and added a copper heat embossed sub-sentiment that reads 'perfection' to complete the card.
