Oh Pat, how sad! This is some of the prettiest g45 and that fairy and the word giggles lighten the mood considerably in your beautiful lo and I like the way your journaling came out on that pp you used. Want to thank you for posting the weeklies because the threads can get busy and I don't even come across the los when trying to follow the thread.
What a heartbreaking loss for your family, yet it galvanized all the love your parents had to offer. I'm so sorry you and your family grew up without Amy, yet she clearly left each of you the profound gift of love. Your layout is so beautiful. The happy little girls you and your sister giggling is just priceless!
Oh Pat, my heart broke reading through your description. How devastated your family must have been at the loss of your little sister. I am truly sorry for your loss. I love your beautiful, whimsical and happy page.
A stunningly beautiful layout. I love the fairy, almost as if she's your sister watching over your and your other sister. An incredible story, as well as a sad one.

Gorgeous layout with a sweet photo! Your story is so touching, I am sorry that you lost your sister at such a young age. Thank you for sharing your story.
What a remarkable story you're telling here, Pat. I'm so saddened by your family's loss but so inspired by the way that it bought so much strength to you all. And this photo and the beautiful fairyland that you've created around evokes the memory of that fateful summer so well; thanks for coming up with this and even more, for sharing it with us...
Such a touching story Pat. It's interesting how events (births and even deaths) change the dynamics of a family unit, making the unit stronger and better or tearing it apart. It sounds like your family was fortunate to grow closer and stronger. You have created a GORGEOUS lo here. It's full of beauty and a bit of whimsy too, striking a perfect balance. LOVE everything you've done here.
What an adorable picture and I love the layout. I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby sister. So terribly sad, but it seems that you were blessed in special ways from that loss. Thank you for sharing this.
Wow, Pat...I love absolutely everything about this. This feminine background pp, the way the colors compliment each other, the journaling with mixed fonts, the beautiful flowers, the adorable fairy, the nostalgia of the photo, and the sentiment behind it...It really is breathtaking. I love it!
What an impactful memory that summer brought to you about your sister Amy. It is so sad that she passed away, so quickly. But after she went back to heaven she gave you two parents who really became closer to you and your sister, not taking you both for granted anymore...funny how things really work out and why. I love this page girl! It's fun and playful with a bit of whimsical and fantasy. Beautifully made! fave
this is gorgeous - the colour palette and papers and the wonderful elements for embellishing. This is a story that needed to be told - thank you for sharing it with us.
Gorgeous! You always have the right accents for your los. The fairy is perfect for this lo and the flowers are beautiful. Very cute picture of you and your sister. Thanks for sharing some of your history with us.
Gorgeous page! The photo is precious and the soft colors in your layout pair so well with it! Love the fairy too. So sorry for the loss of your sister. Thanks for sharing the story with us.
Oh wow! This is poignantly beautiful! Love the photo and the paper choices are magnificent for this. I love your journaling, it is a huge part of all your layouts. That flower cluster is brilliant. I am so happy I get to follow this creation in the Round Robin. Beautiful!
The photo I'm pretty sure was taken in the summer of 1961. My grandparents are on some of the photos that were taken on the same day, and my grandmother was a teacher, so they could not have been to visit unless it was summer.
My mother in the same set of photos is heavily pregnant, and my younger brother was an early spring baby, not a late summer one, so I'm fairly certain that the baby she was carrying was my second sister who was born on September 9 and passed away from SIDS on the 17th - the day before my 4th birthday.
The death of my second sister changed my entire world. My parents, up to that point, were just bouncing along thinking everything was going according to plan. And then it didn't. She changed ALL of our lives - even my sister's and mine, although we were both so young we barely understood the impact of her being part of our family. But her death changed my father into my DADDY and my mother from "The Officer's Wife" to our MOM. I'm not sure how all our lives might might have turned out had Amy lived, but her short little life had a tremendous impact on how mine and my sister's actually did.
There's not really anything particularly SPECIAL about this photo - just me and my sister taken at a time when we were pretty much the only playmates each other had.
The location was Quantico, Virginia - where we lived right up the street from the Marine Corps base. We had a huge old house with an enormous yard, and this tree was good for hours of fun. There was a big knob, just above a little four-year-old girl's eye level, which jutted out to make a kind of seat. In addition, it was hollow and loads of fun to explore. I'm actually sitting on that knob in this photo, about as precariously as the fairy embellishment is on that flower!

Gosh, it feels like forever since I was able to find time to sit down at my scrap desk. My fingers have been itching to get to this project for Round Robin!
I also got incredibly lucky, because for the AGC Weekly Challenge, I rolled a tails, which means that i got to choose a LIFT instead of a sketch, so this one gets to do double duty for me.
Challenge Stack ~ 1) AGC Weekly #2 ~ A Garden Challenge 2) Round Robin ~ Week 2 ~ I lifted justowen's School Art Fair which you can see here:
3) Scraplift The Person Before You ~ April is a tough month for me, so when Jenny signed up, I grabbed the spot after her quick, so that I could stack Round Robin with this one. It doesn't usually work out for me like that! 4) Girls Only ~ me, my sister, the fairy, and the bees! 5) Childhood Challenge ~ An important childhood memory 6) Heritage ~ 1961 photo, pretty sure that qualifies as "heritage"
