LOL. Trish - I can actually DO both. This page is more typical of the stuff I create for the classes I teach at my LSS. It's fun to switch back and forth between the two styles. This primary color scheme just wasn't going to lend itself to the Swirly Stuff that I usually do.
This is so different from your other work!! Very cute though, love the stitching on the side of the strips, and the little corners. I never know what to do with those.
#1. Why Did I Buy This - Select an embellishment that you bought that you had no idea what to do with. My choice is those chipboard flowers and jelly word chip. They are so "not" my typical vintage style, but I got both packages for fifty cents, so how could I walk past a bargin like that? I'm glad they're out of my embellishment drawer and onto a page, and I'm really glad they turned out to be so cute with this LO.
#2. Color - Use only Primary Colors on your page. I've never used primary colors before. I gravitate toward the muted tones of vintage and heritage styles, so this was really a challenge for me!
#3. Scrap Your Pet - The photos are my daughters two cats, Nessie and Bird. Beth and Tony don't have any children (yet) so Nessie (the tabby) and Bird (the calico) are sort of substitute grandchildren for me.
#4. Monthly Sketch Challenge #2. This sketch was really user friendly for integrating with the Color Challenge. I saw the strips and immediately thought about layering those color strips. I love how it turned out!
