On National Scrapbook Day this year, my DH wanted to spend the day at the Steam Engine Show in Pawnee. I believe that as important as it is to archive your memories, it's more important to CREATE memories worthy of archiving. So I may be the only scrap booker I know who did not actually SCRAP on NSB, but I had a great day just the same. We had a lovely time together - just the two of us and Cowboy, who never stays home when he can GO.

This is one of the last photographs I took that day. I thought it was neat that this was an an old Arny ambulance, since our daughter is a member of the US Army and currently stationed in Iraq. So of course, I had to get a photograph, not just to remember the day, but to remember the "time." The Uncle Sam "I Want YOU..." is so true. The US Army didn't just take our daughter. When she enlisted, we joined up too. We pray daily for her safety, as well as the safety of each and every one of our service members both overseas and at home. We are so proud to be the parents of a United States soldier.

This layout is inspired by the June Swirlydoos Sketch, and I love how pretty it turned out - in spite of the all boy theme!

This is the second page from my June Swirlydoos kit. Quite a color contrast from the deep blues of my first one, but this kit is just SO versatile and full of the most masculine products. I used my Sizzix die-cut to create the flourish out of the glassine paper (incredible texture!). I fussy cut the clocks, applied crackle accents to the faces so they'd look old and cracked, and I used MoonShadow mist on the Dusty Attic skeletal clock. Then I threaded the chain and finished with those antique looking flowers from a previous kit (wish I could find some MORE of these!)

I love my Zutter Distress tool. It makes distressing papers a snap!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my work. I treasure your comments! Every single one is important to me, and I value your opinions!
