After we left Akaka Falls, there was a scrapbook store was calling my name! I really wanted to go to Island Scrapbook in downtown Hilo! I went a little more than crazy.
I bought a stack of Hawaii papers and diecuts as well as one of the Arizona Memorial and the Black Sand Beach. While I was doing damage to the debit card Bill wanted to visit a few antique store.
Bill showed up at the scrapbook store to pick me up with a gorgeous flower arrangement for me with a big bird of paradise in the middle! That was so special! The ladies in the scrapbook store took my camera and took pictures of my flowers and of me holding them so I could scrap the moment.
He told me later that he picked out a pre-made arrangement but wanted one flower in it replaced with a flower from another arrangement, then liked another flower and switched it out and kept changing out flowers for ones he liked better – she charged him for a custom arrangement because it was custom when he got through with it!
We dropped my flowers off in our room so they wouldn't get crushed or ruined in the car; next stop - to look at the ocean and walk out on a little island. A wooden walking bridge crosses you over to the small island and fish and turtles can be seen from the sides of the bridge.
Dinner wa.s at the Pond's restaurant. We saw it the night before and it was all lit up with the lights reflecting on the water. We split an order of fried fish.
