What a Beautiful Stallion he was. By that look in his eye he knew it. Love it. I miss my two boys. My first one was a Palomino named Comanche I got him when I was 11 and he was 3 yrs old. He lived to be 25 yrs old was going blind with moon blindness. I was boarding him at a private farm. I was working 10 hrs a day and trying to get there often but was also helping with my dad who had bad arthritis. My second horse did not stay with he long as when I went to test ride him three times then bought him I found out the hard way after I purchased him she had been drugging him. When I went to ride we would go backwards. My friends said we will ride with you. Trailered him over there got him ready put my foot in stirrup swung up into saddle and he exploded I rode him bucking for a minute and a half I bailed at the same time he really unloaded. I ended up with a dislocated right shoulder. I had someone work with him who trained mustangs no problems. I would go near him to brush and spend time with as I could not ride yet. He would lay his ears back ate me try to bite or swing his butt at me to kick. When I got the ok to ride I did he had his ears pinned back so far the tips were touching, and he kept humping in back with small bucks. I told the guy I want to sell him. I was not scared of him at all I never raised a hand to him or anything bad to him. I think the previous female who sold him to me must of beat him. he would of had a great home but I could not risk another injury. It took me another year to get another horse. Shado was a 10 yr old Chestnut Appaloosa who had the same personality as my first horse. I had Shado until he was 27 and he went blind too.
Oh my gosh my heart breaks reading your story, you tell it so thoughtfully. Your picture is stunning as is the layout that does such a great job highlighting it. I am so sorry for your loss on so many levels.
Beautiful photo of your horse, I like the way you journal. I haven't been commenting of all of your lo's etc. as I have been checking in from time to time to see what you have been up to. I have basically stepped out of participating in sb.com to work on completing other past albums including trips to Disney, events, holidays etc. My scrapping is far behind and I was spending so much time here I ignored my own work. I will be back sometime in the future, but will continue to check in to see the posts you make. Linda
I'm deeply, truly sorry for your devastating loss. Thank you for speaking so candidly here with us about it and for sharing this beautiful ode to such a majestic creature's life. {{{Hugs}}}
Pat remind me not to read the stories behind your animal layouts... :: wipes tears:: Such a heartbreaking story. A smart, handsome, talented horse that didn't get to live to fill his potential. ANY animal loss is difficult but an animal with so much personality who was destined for great things is just a little more so. I'm glad the (short) life he did have was good... many animals dont get that. Your layout is absolutely beautiful and that photo...I mean he LOOKS like he knew he was AMAZING. Cocky for sure.... and I say that with a smile.
That is such a heartbreaking story but I appreciate you sharing it. I am in awe of his accomplishments and it sounds like the life he did have was absolutely amazing! Your beautiful lo is such a wonderful tribute to your 4 legged family member. Gorgeous rich colors and I love all the timepieces. The real star though is that picture. Such a beautiful baby! I'm sorry for the loss you and your partner had to go through.
Oh my goodness - what a heart wrenching story. This is a beautiful tribute to a magnificent creature. The fact that you created this BEAUTIFUL lo entirely from scraps/leftovers is a testament to your creativity and love for the horse. I love how you used all the timepieces - a reference to how quickly time passes and that we never know what tomorrow brings.
What a beautiful yet sad story. He was a beauty, and he made you proud. His ending was way too soon, and I'm sorry you didn't get to ride him again. A beautifully done tribute to a handsome horse.
Beautiful tribute to a beautiful horse! Loved reading your journaling! Your page looks magnificent, leftovers and all! A horse and layout to be proud of!
Your beautiful horse must have loved you more than anthing else to work so hard in life to make you proud of him. I am so sorry he was called to heaven early. Your layout is beautiful.
This is really a lovely tribute to such a beautiful horse. I love all your layering and the design of this layout. The papers are perfect and really highlight your beautiful champion. I love the quote and really need to remember it myself.
WOW That story brought tears to my eyes. I love all animals and know first hand the emotions that occur when we have to let them go. So sorry for your loss. I do believe you honored him well with this beautiful layout. The Spotted Wonder certainly was a beauty.
Great story! Very clever layout! So sad you lose him so soon though. I did giggle on your comment of the return of Jesus on a spotted horse. Fun layout!
This is what my Leftovers backside projects usually look like. Lots of pieced together pieces of paper to cover holes and fill empty spots.
I always cut paper out of the middle whenever I cut into a new sheet, which leaves me these beautiful frames to work with. I have lots of them, just waiting for a leftovers project inspiration to hit.
