This is a beautiful sympathy card. I like this "sepia" look and subtle wash background. And the detail of that flower stamps is amazing!

2021 Card #27 - Fast and Simple Sympathy Card

I created this simple sympathy card in response to someone requesting samples using this stamp set. The stamp set is by Stampin' Up! and will be released publicly as an add on Aug 3. Any photo realistic or detailed stamp would work for this card. It would be easy to use a detailed animal or other foliage stamp to make it more masculine, but I think this would work regardless of the recipient.

I used a simple wash on the background and stamped directly over it once it had dried. I used a stamp platform for the flower, as my arthritic hands don't do so well any more. Good thing I did, as I missed a couple spots on the first stamping. My eyes are old, too, and I managed to get the sentiment is a little bit crooked. That's ok, though, as the message inside will be what is most important.

I stamped and layered the insert, but left off any additional sentiments to leave room for a proper personal message inside.

The only embellishment I used was a small bow made of braided linen twine (it came that way, I didn't braid it).
